simin_2Today in the morning after breakfast, I begun my watch from 8 till 12. We had to put the sails down, so that we could drive under engine. We were around 20 nm from Bahamas where we wanted to bunker, unsure if we were going to get a place in the port. At 10:30 we were only 12 nm away and we did not know if we could get a place at all. At 12 o’clock we received a call ensuring that we could have a place for 1 o’clock. So, we had lunch and after that we got the ropes out and drove into the port. After a very long, stressful maneuver, in which we hit the pier with our Wasserstaak about three times, we had two people jump out onto the pier to guide the captain and attach the ropes to the bollards. After 10 minutes we found out that the port had WIFI. So, the whole crew stood on the pier with phones in their hands. We stayed for 8 hours to bunker both fuel and food. At 8 o’clock, during my watch, we exited the port without any struggle. Because of a lack of wind we were not able to operate under sails. Given that, we were forced to drive under engine again. However, at least in the right direction… Bermuda! See you,
